Our Kindergarten
During their period in kindergarten, usually when they are between 0 to 7 years old, children are in a fragile stage of their development. Their actions are will-oriented and their way of learning is the simplest and most effective one: imitation of others. They need a lot of their life force to grow a healthy body and develop an untroubled mind. Because of that, in our Waldorf Kindergarten we try to stick with some basic rules:
No haste. The children shall realise that they have enough time here to accomplish the things at hand. This knowlegde will strengthen their will to do things and their confidence while doing them.
No fear. Every child should be able to trust in and rely on a regular living rhythm, which will free its life force for a healthy growing process.
Mistakes are acceptable. Children shall experience the fun and freedom in their growing process even though they fail in order to develop their imagination and creativity.
No Force. We will encourage our children to imitate by their own will so that they will become truly independent individuals.
We want to "Let a child be a child". Children’s heads are still soft and their muscles still weak. The sun, stars, moon, rain, wind and peace all shall descend onto the children and bless them. The children greedily breathe in the world, accept it and try their best make it their own. We want to let our children live a rhythmic life in which they can engage in cooking, role-playing, modeling, handcraft, painting, singing, dancing, story-telling, celebrations of birthdays and festivals, outdoor activities and gardening.
We want to let them play freely so they can explore the world, make use of their imagination, be creative and grow up healthily.
